Trending is a section that talks about what’s new, what’s hot and what people are talking about. It also provides the latest news from around the world.

Breaking News is an emergency news story that is so urgent it requires immediate coverage by broadcasters to interrupt regular programming, often by means of a cut-in with the network newscast. In the past, breaking news was signalled by alert crawls during regular programming, but this was generally restricted to severe weather events or to extremely serious national stories, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Today, it is common for 24-hour news networks to feature a live reporter available to interrupt programming at any time. If the event is widespread, the network may also use a Special Report ticker that can be displayed on the bottom of the screen.
