On July 10, 1960, Lyndon B. Johnson joined “Meet the Press” as a presidential candidate along with other Democratic candidates, Stuart Symington and John F. Kennedy. In the 90-minute interview special, all three candidates were pressed by a panel of journalists in front of an audience. Johnson said he was “not interested in the vice presidency,” saying he “wouldn’t want to trade my vote for a gavel.” Despite that, Johnson agreed to join the Democratic ticket led by John F. Kennedy and became vice president in 1961. Following Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, Johnson became the 36th president.

A wide variety of current news services are available on the Internet. You can find articles from major newspapers and magazines, television broadcast transcripts, and more. Some services even offer daily updates from popular news sources. Other sources offer coverage of major international and regional events. Some services even include AP Online, a service of the Associated Press.
Streaming news services are a growing alternative to traditional TV. These services are convenient and allow users to customize their news experience. They offer timely news and are available anywhere and at any time. They are also cost-effective. They make video news ubiquitous. While television news programs have long been a staple of our cultural life, streaming news has transformed the way we consume news.
The cable TV news industry has evolved as well. In the past, cable news channels were linear, requiring viewers to match their clocks with the programmers. When they were live, viewers had to wait until the news wheel turned before they could watch it. But with the development of DVRs and web access, people could view the news whenever they wanted.
The potential for streaming news services is immense, and the major news networks have high hopes. Despite the difficulties of getting viewers, major networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations. For example, Fox recently reaped 1.5 million subscribers to its streaming service, Fox Nation. NBC News Now produces 10 hours of original news content per day and boasts over 31 million video views a month.
