Former elementary school teacher Arielle Fodor has racked up 1.4 million followers by posting political satire as her influencer alter ego @mrs.frazzled. When Rep. Breaking news is a live news story that is breaking so rapidly that it requires an immediate interruption of non-news programming on television or radio, or the delay in a regular, scheduled network broadcast. In the days before 24-hour news networks, such breaks were typically reserved for extremely urgent events that elicited nationwide coverage, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, or severe weather events that require a rapid “quick alert” interrupt of normal programming to provide immediate information about an unfolding threat. A graphical “Newsflash” or “Special report” graphic is usually used to introduce the story and may be accompanied by a special music cue.
