Current News is produced in a variety of ways. One method is through television news broadcasts. Other forms of current news are produced by newspapers, magazines, and other media outlets. This type of news is often sketchy, since there is little information available at the time of its production. Another method is through citizen journalism.

Common topics of news include government, business, and health. It may also include entertainment, fashion, and the environment. Even quirky events and pranks may make it into the news. In ancient times, news was simply government proclamations or other newsworthy events. However, modern technological advances and social developments have increased the speed at which news can be transmitted. As such, the content of news has also changed.

There are also several online sources of current news. The American Broadcasting Company (ABC) is a popular news service in the United States. In Europe, the CSM, a German public radio broadcaster, publishes a weekly magazine covering US and international current events. Fareed Zakaria, an Indian-American columnist for The Washington Post, is another source of international news.

In the United States, television stations are increasingly incorporating Internet streaming services into their coverage. During breaking news, local stations may break away from the network feed and begin a local newscast. In this scenario, network talent will receive a cue to pause coverage. In the interim, the opening graphic will be repeated. The news is then passed to the reporter at the location of the breaking event, who can continue to share more details as the story develops.
