Commencement exercises at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville continued Saturday, honoring the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering. The university’s provost, Denise Cobb, delivered welcome remarks and led the conferral of degrees. Josie Pauley, who earned a bachelor’s degree in applied communication studies, spoke to CAS graduates and encouraged them to live in the moment and take advantage of every opportunity. The CAS honors ceremony kicked off a week of commencement ceremonies at Vadalabene Center’s First Community Arena.
