US officials attempt to negotiate prisoner swap for Griner’s release

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s commencement exercises will continue this weekend. The university will honor 2,356 graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering. Chancellor James T. Minor will be on hand to oversee the ceremonies. Graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Science will receive special honorary degrees for their achievements. CAS student Josie Pauley, who received a bachelor’s degree in applied communication studies, delivered a speech to the graduates. She encouraged them to live in the moment and to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
