Authorities are on the hunt for five inmates who they believe escaped through the plumbing pipes at St. Francois County Jail in Farmington, Missouri. Surveillance video captured the moments when two of the inmates picked up the three others in a stolen sedan near a Centene Corporation parking lot. KSDK’s Travis Cummings reports.

Historically, TV news has been a profitable business. In the past, it was a linear show that took place at a specific time and place, with a town crier that proclaimed current events to the community. As a result, the crier was limited by his proximity to the village and by the news sources.
The advent of the Internet has created a new frontier for news, and cable and streaming networks have planted a flag in this frontier. They have adapted their programming to suit the new medium.
CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox all have streaming operations. These networks schedule regular nightly news programs, and they also offer documentaries and reruns. But what is their future?
Streaming has the potential to reshape how political and political-insider news is covered. Online video isn’t bounded by expensive negotiations with cable companies. It also allows the delivery of content anywhere, at any time.
Streaming news has already attracted a broad audience, and some of the largest networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the technology. In fact, in 2020, they combined to earn $3 billion in profit.
Streaming is the answer to the scarcity of news, and it allows a viewer to customise the experience. For example, News for Kids, a free online site, publishes daily roundups of current news written for children. This includes stories that address global issues, and explanations of terms unfamiliar to young viewers.
Another streamer, Dogo News, offers an international perspective on current events. It also produces podcasts.
