If you’re looking for news from the past year, you’ll want to look at Current News. These articles are organized chronologically in bolded columns. To sort them, click on the column headings. You can also view news from the past two years by clicking the “Archived News” tab. This section also has links and information geared towards reporters. Here are a few current news sites that you might want to check out:
Breaking news: “Breaking news” is a term often used in the media to describe the most important story of the day. It may be referring to a live story or to a story of worldwide interest. Breaking news is also sometimes used to refer to news that has already been covered by another news organization. If you’re looking for local news, try “NewsBreak.”
Special Report: Local stations may receive an opportunity to break away from their network feed during the evening newscast. During this time, network talent takes the cue from the anchor and pauses for a few seconds to refresh coverage. After the reset, the opening graphic may be rolled again. Once the show ends, the network or local station will likely return to the feed or join it on an “extended edition.”
Breaking news is an interruption of prime time. Breaking news on prime time often disrupts new and highly rated television programs. Even programs with little time to air are interrupted by breaking news. In April 2017, ABC’s “Scandal” episode was interrupted by the Shayrat missile strike. It was the best show on the network during that time period, but the audience didn’t appreciate it. So the next time you watch TV, make sure you turn on the news.
