Current News is a section of The Nation magazine, the longest-running weekly publication in the US, covering liberal/progressive political, cultural and social issues. Unfortunately, the magazine has recently been threatened by President Trump’s massive budget cuts to domestic programs. Fortunately, there are several liberal/progressive news sources online. Slate, for example, avoids emotional language and is an excellent source of US current affairs. Slate is also published in a variety of languages, including English and Spanish.
