In order to understand the current news industry, it’s necessary to define the various types of news and how they affect audiences. The Mirror Model, for example, states that the news should be reflective of reality and reflect the opinion of readers. In contrast, the Organizational Model, also known as the Bargaining Model, focuses on applying pressure to governmental processes. Finally, the Political Model describes how the news represents different political pressures and ideological biases of individuals.
Many television programs are dedicated to providing current news. Some focus on national and international affairs, while others are dedicated to sports and celebrity news. Many of these channels also report on local and regional issues.
