Trending is a series that highlights current news stories that have captured audience interest and attention. These include breaking news events, such as natural disasters, major accidents, or significant social issues. Breaking news differs from regular news reporting because of its urgency and focus on real-time developments, requiring journalists to provide updates as they become available. It often interrupts regular programming and requires journalists to rely on eyewitness accounts, official statements, and public reactions shared via social media in order to deliver timely updates to viewers and readers. Consider the ethical considerations that emerge when journalists are under pressure to report immediate updates while maintaining accuracy.
