Current News is a category of news that is published within the last year. For example, if Emily Allen was killed in an automobile accident, the news would be reported on the radio and on television.
The news is often sharable. In the past, the town crier was the one who bellowed the latest news. However, the news was also limited by the time and distance it could travel.
Streaming has changed the media landscape. Unlike cable TV, streaming can deliver breaking news at any time. It also allows viewers to customize the experience to fit their needs.
Several major networks have entered the streaming business in recent years. They repurpose programming from cable. And they are offering news analysis and documentaries as well.
As consumers become frustrated with low quality products and high cost, these companies are forced to innovate. Streaming has proven to attract niche audiences and mass audiences alike.
The news networks have high hopes for their streaming endeavors. Some have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in operations. But most avoid over-hyping the technology.
Historically, broadcast and cable news has been profitable. But commercial-averse viewers may not want to pay for TV news. That’s where free news streamers come in.
By giving viewers a choice, these news outlets are essentially telling them that they don’t have to pay for their content. At the same time, they are promoting cable-quality news.
With a variety of news outlets available online, political news coverage is likely to be reshaped. New, overtly political operations will emerge to feed the polarization in the audience.
