Cable and broadcast news have been around for decades. However, in recent years streaming news has taken the spotlight. It has set off a buzz of excitement in media circles.

Streaming allows for instantaneous delivery of news and other content, which has drawn a growing audience. The major news networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in their streaming operations.

Streaming also gives viewers access to reruns and documentaries. Unlike cable TV, where the audience has to match the programmers’ clocks, streaming provides news on demand.

Streaming has already attracted audiences in the teen and younger demographic. In fact, according to a recent study, the majority of adults in the US subscribe to at least one video-streaming service.

Streaming is likely to change the way political news is covered. Online video streaming will allow new overtly political news outlets to attract an audience.

A study conducted by Streaming Media Analytics, a research firm, found that streamers spent more time watching streamed programming than traditional broadcast TV. Also, a majority of viewers chose to watch streaming news over broadcast.

There are many streaming news services in the market. Some are free, while others charge. These companies offer a variety of news programs, including local news, documentaries, and more.

CNN, Fox, and MSNBC all earned a combined $3 billion in profits in 2020. Streaming has not only helped these companies remain competitive, it has made their operations more efficient and economical.
