Current News is a section of Trending that covers hot topics on the internet. It is a great source for information about the latest trends and breaking news stories.

A breaking news story is a news event that warrants the interruption of regular non-news programming (or, in the case of a network newscast, a scheduled newscast). Breaking news events generally require national or international scope and often elicit widespread coverage requiring numerous broadcasters to interrupt their normal programs to report on the event. If a network newscast is in progress when the event occurs, the network usually alerts its affiliates to stand by and interrupt with the breaking news feed. In some cases, a countdown will be displayed to allow the affiliates time to switch over. During the breaking news segment, station identification will be overlaid on top of the regular network imaging and lower third graphics may be altered to convey urgency.

CBS News reporter Hallie Jackson visits a remote stretch of New Mexico to shed light on Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch and the questions over why his former property wasn’t searched sooner. Plus, “The Hills” alum Erika Christensen takes a boat into the Strait of Hormuz to learn more about the Iranian nuclear crisis.
