The American Academy of Emergency Medicine has announced the launch of a new regional chapter in Virginia and Maryland. AAEM has also joined forces with the American Medical Association and the American Board of Emergency Medicine to form the EM Pain and Procedural Committee. This committee will work to advance the field of emergency medicine and reduce the number of unnecessary deaths and injuries.
In other news, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s University Housing received a 2022 Skyfactor Assessment and Impact Award in the category of satisfaction with community engagement. University Housing also has implemented a number of data-driven programs that support on-campus living. In addition, Professor Marti Elford was named a Fulbright Specialist by the Fulbright Finland organization for her contribution to special education teacher preparation.
