To sort articles, you can click on the bolded column headings. You can also click on the “Archived News” tab to view news from two years ago. If you are a regular reader of the newspaper or magazine, current news is an essential part of your news diet. But, if you’d prefer to stay up-to-date without a subscription to the news, there are a number of alternatives.
The first option is to air breaking news before prime time programming. Breaking news can disrupt a highly-rated show with minutes left. In some cases, a news event can take several days to cover. For example, the assassination of John F. Kennedy occurred between November 22 and 26, 1963, while the September 11 attacks occurred between September 11 and 15. During this time, the network will also incorporate an analyst’s analysis of the story. These analysts may be in the studio or a telephone booth, depending on the circumstances. Broadband and satellite services may be used to provide sustained coverage. During prolonged coverage, regular commercials may be suspended, but local broadcasters may have opted to use the option.
Another option is to use a library to find current news. Current news publications are available in print and on the Internet. You can access these publications using the library’s search tools.
