Current News items are published from around the world. There are many different sources, such as newspapers and magazines, as well as the Internet. Some media outlets, such as the BBC and CNN, produce and publish news in a variety of formats. Some are classified as “hard news,” while others are called “soft news.”

Current news sources include magazines and newspapers that cover both US and international current events. The most popular news service in the United States is the American Broadcasting Company, owned by Disney. A trusted German public-sector broadcaster, CSM, covers international and domestic current events. Other prominent sources for news include Scott Lucas, an American professor of American Studies who covers Middle East issues. Fareed Zakaria, an Indian-American columnist for the Washington Post, writes about current affairs and global issues.
